The Classic Greeting

There is something profoundly satisfying about seeing "Hello, World!" print to a console. It is the first breath of life for a program, a signal that the environment is ready, the syntax is correct, and the machine is listening.

This blog is my new "Hello World."

For a long time, I've wanted a space to document my learning, share snippets of code that saved my day, and reflect on the ever-changing landscape of software engineering. Social media is fleeting, but a blog—especially one built on a solid stack like Eleventy—feels permanent. It is a digital garden that I can tend to over time.

Why Eleventy?

I chose this stack because I wanted something:

  1. Fast: Static HTML is unbeatable.
  2. Simple: No complex hydration or client-side routing unless I need it.
  3. Mine: I own the content and the platform.

Here is a quick look at the simplicity that won me over. A simple Nunjucks template can power an entire layout:

What to Expect

In the coming weeks, I plan to write about:

I believe that teaching is the best way to learn. By forcing myself to articulate concepts clearly enough to write them down, I hope to solidify my own understanding.

Closing Thoughts

Writing code is often about solving problems for others. Writing a blog is about solving a problem for yourself—the problem of forgetting. How often have you Googled the same regex or Docker command for the third time in a month? This site will serve as my external memory.
